The first LongHorn Steakhouse in Atlanta, Georgia opened in 1981
Where it all started

LongHorn Steakhouse first fired it up in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 10, 1981.

1982
1982 freak snowstorm in Atlanta that got guests into the LongHorn for $1 drinks
Snow Jam

In 1982, a freak snowstorm hit Atlanta, shutting down interstate travel. Guests streamed into LongHorn for a night that got our legend started.

1996
The Steerhead arrived at LongHorn in 1996 White square logo with the Longhorn Steer logo on it
A Steer Is Born

Our iconic steerhead arrived. Soon, it would appear on more than 136 steakhouses in the East, Midwest, Southwest and Puerto Rico.

2007
LongHorn Steakhouse became a part of Darden in 2007
Keeping Good Company

LongHorn Steakhouse became part of the Darden Restaurant family in 2007.

2009
In 2009 LongHorn transformed from roadhouse to ranch.
